In 2008 our application for Comenius Multilateral School Partnerships. Project in LLL managed by Tempus Public Foundation in Hungary was supported by the EC.
This way we had the opportunity to start a two-year-long project titled Waste as a Tool of Imagination and Art- Unprofessiononal Reuse.
The other two participants of this project are the Czech ZŠ Dr. E. Beneše (Praha 9 – Čakovice) and the Turkish Mehmet Akif Ersoy Primary Schools. (Ağrı)
Pupils will study their waste management and share this with each other in order to compare lifestyles and sustainability across Europe. We hope to learn from each other to reduce our waste and its environmental impact. We try to change school culture to improve the environment in a long term vision. We plan to begin at the individual level and broaden the pupils’ horizons to include school, community and global perspectives.
Where such a scheme exists, schools will work towards the Eco School Green Flag status, with a view to achieving an award at the end of the project.
To take part in European cooperation activities such as this Partnership is an excellent possibility to get to know other people’s life, lifestyle and problems as well. We think that environmental protection is a common problem for all nations in the world. If we want to take steps, first we have to teach the younger generations how to start to save our energy sources and how to protect our nature. In addition this project encourages our students to communicate with other people in foreign languages especially in English. We would like our pupils to feel that they can strive for a common purpose and they can share their ideas with other nations in Europe. |
